Windows Vista, Not Worth The Trouble

I don’t even know why I bothered wasting my time with Vista. First, their download process just plain sucked (apparently, it’s hosted by the poeple at Akamai) and took me nearly 2 days to download the 4GiB+ DVD image. Second, it’s Windows.

Flock Update: Is That A Bug In Your Flock?

I’ve been using Flock everyday at work and so far it’s been pretty stable and generally quick (although, as with Firefox if you have a lot of extensions installed, it takes a little longer to open). It’s really not that much different from Firefox but it does have some handy little “built-in” applications that I thought I’d find usefull. One of which is the Blogging ability. It’s got a nice WYSIWYG text editor as well as a source tab for viewing the source of your post. I generally like to write my posts in the source view as I have a nice little plugin installed in WordPress that lets me add style and links to my posts without actually writing HTML.

I started writing my previous post in Flock (in source view) and had a couple of paragraphs written when I hit ‘Publish.’ I published the post and opened the web page to find nothing there except a link to the website from which I opened the Blog window (think right-click -> Blog this). I’m not sure if this is a bug or not, but it was quite frustrating.

I’ll have to run some more test and see if it really *is* a bug. Until then, I think I’ll forgoe using Flock to add posts to the site.

Recent Activity of Mr. Muldown

Well, it seems that Mr. Mulldown has finally gotten off his lazy pseudo-German ass and actually started adding content to his site. Now, he makes a claim that the recent activity on his site is what has sparked me to write more frequently. Sorry Brian, but, I haven’t looked at your site for quite some time. I noticed it about three days ago.

In the same fashion, fellow nerd Nathan has also been a busy little typer.

Now, if you’ll excuse me… Me and my fellow nerds will now retire to the nerdery with our calculators.

Oh yay! Clerks II

I loved the first one.

Warning: This trailer is rated R. You should probably close your bedroom door so your parents don’t see what you’re watching.

Cheap Domestic Beer

I was reading this article on Gizmodo about how the iPod has beaten beer in a popularity contest amongst undergraduate students. I was totally agreeing with him up to the point where he makes refference to “cheap domestic beer.” Sorry Travis, but drinking “cheap domestic beer” in any quantity only makes you a poor redneck.

Sure, my iPod is great and it usually never leaves my pocket, but nothing—and I mean absolutely nothing—could be more “in” than drinking extremely cheap domestic beer in large quantities. – Travis Hudson

Flock 0.7

Several months ago I downloaded and tried Flock at work and while I was somewhat impressed with it’s interface (it’s purty), I wasn’t too impressed with it’s speed and reliability. Today I read that there was an updated version of flock so I decided to give it another go. In fact I’m writing this entry from Flock now using it’s handy built in Blogging feature. So far, it seems quick and responsive (and yes, it’s still appealing to the eyes).

Keep in mind this application is still in beta, so I wouldn’t really recommend it as a replacement for Firefox or Mozilla just yet.

I’ll keep testing and update if I find anything noteworthy.
