Thanks for the review... I am in Taiwan so focusing screen.com order is local for me, no added shipping cost or anything and I'll see how it works on my 400D once I get it... I discovered the hard way what the stock screen does... I was photographing church today and I can't honestly tell if the focusing is right or not, because I am using a takumar 135mm lens and the difference between almost focused and focused is so slight that I can't tell on the focusing screen, only when I opened the image on my computer can I tell that my image is out of focus! that's when it's too late to just go back and shoot another picture. I am spending a bit more on a K-3 screen though because I think the cheap screens they have is just about the same as the 20 dollar screens you find on Ebay. The more expensive ones are the screens made for the high end camera by Nikon or Canon and they just modify it for the lower end camera... really the reasoning being that it's only 1000nt more than the cheap screens but it does give me future insurance when I have to use a low aperture kit lens or low lights... since it seems the more expensive screens have better tolerance to lower lights. I'll see when I get it...

[...] randys.org added an interesting post on FocusingScreen.com focus screen review (Canon XTi/400D)Here’s a small excerptPreface If you haven’t seen my previous posts on the subject, I’ve had a little bit of an obsession on film cameras. It started innocently with a couple rangefinders and a TLR , then started growing. An old Rolleiflex SLR, another rangefinder, another SLR, a 90s point & shoot; I’ve become obsessed with the value of older optics and their potential for image quality. I had heard of people using old manual focus lenses on their modern SLRs but never really gave it much thought. Most [...]
