Background
Most of my professional career has been set in a corporate environment. It’s been a non-stop learning process about development, process, management and corporate culture. I’ve been involved in literally ALL aspects of the development life cycle from being strictly a code monkey to writing technical design documents and managing other code monkeys.
I cut my teeth on PHP in the early days of PHP 3 and have continually followed its progress. I wouldn’t call me a fan boy of PHP, but I do have a fondness for the language. When I started at Autobytel, I had no experience with ASP or Coldfusion but it was easy to learn. I then learned Java, C# and ASP.NET. Once you understand the principals behind object oriented programming, picking up additional languages isn’t all that difficult. I becomes more of a process of learning the language structures and frameworks more than programming in general. I’ve also toyed with Ruby and Python in my spare time just to see what all the fuss was about.
Current Status
While I am currently employed, I am looking for new opportunities. I have reached a time in my life where I need a change of pace. I’ve been in Orange County (California) for almost eight years and it’s time to go. I’m mainly looking for opportunities in the Pacific North West (Portland or Seattle) and maybe the Bay Area for the right position.
Resumé
I do have a resumé and even a portfolio of work. If you have any open positions, please don’t hesitate to drop me a line.
